ADMISSION
All candidates for the Medical Assistant program must meet the following
criteria:
- Submit a high school diploma or GED
- Earn acceptable scores (as set by the College) on the LCCC Assessment
Test
- Complete a personal interview with Mrs. Judith Ehninger, Program
Coordinator.
Students are selected for admission to the Medical Assistant program based
upon their interest and knowledge of the profession, academic preparation,
and communication skills demonstrated through a writing sample and
personal interview. Students who are not academically prepared, but
demonstrate strong communication skills and career interest may be
considered for admission to the program after successfully completing an
individually designed preparatory program.
Students are notified of their admission to the program throughout the year.
The two-year sequence of the Medical Assisting courses begins the Fall
semester (August).
Admission Procedures
Read these procedures carefully and follow the instructions below to maintain your candidacy in the Medical Assistant Program. Students who require accommodations due to a disability should contact the Disability Support Office at 610-799-1190.
1.Complete an application for admission to the college.
The admissions application can be secured from the Enrollment Services Office at 610-799-1171. The completed application, the residency form, and $25.00 application fee should be returned to LCCC, Enrollment Services Office, 4525 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville, PA 18078.
2.Submit an official copy of your academic records.
High School Transcripts
You may request a copy of your high school transcript by calling your high school guidance office. In order for the transcript to be considered official, the transcript must be sent directly from the high school to the College at the address below.
GED Certificates
If you completed a GED program, you must submit a copy of your certificate to the College at the address below.
College Transcripts
If you have previous college experience and wish those courses to be considered for transfer credit, you must request a copy of your college transcript by calling the registrar’s office of the college you attended. In order for the transcript to be official, the transcript must be sent directly from the college to LCCC at the address below.
PLEASE NOTE: Any student who has successfully completed, with a "C" or better, Anatomy and Physiology I and II (BIO 163 and 164) or equivalent at another college more than seven years before admission or readmission will be required to repeat these courses. A challenge examination is available for BIO 163.

Your transcript is an important component of your admission file. Your application to this program cannot be processed until this paperwork is received. You may call the Office of Enrollment Services at 610-799-1171 to check that your file is complete.
3. Schedule and complete the LCCC Skills Assessment Test.
The Skills Assessment Test measures your skills in English, mathematics, and reading to determine your placement in introductory courses. The test requires approximately 21/2 hours to complete. Your results are available immediately.
The Skills Assessment Test may be taken at any of the LCCC campuses. Please call the campus that is most convenient for you to arrange a time to complete the Skills Assessment Test

Exemptions and Waivers
If you have completed college level courses in English composition, mathematics, college algebra or higher level mathematics course and/or nine credits in social sciences or humanities courses, you may be exempt from all or part of the Skills Assessment Test. To qualify for exemption, call the Student Services Office at 610-799-1137.
4. Schedule and complete the Typing Placement Test, if preferred.
The typing placement test is available for students who have previous typing courses or work experience and wish to be considered for exemption from introductory courses.
The typing test consists of two 5-minute writing and
production copies selected from the following: a letter and envelope, a tabulation, a manuscript page, a memorandum, an agenda, or a purchase requisition. The typing test is administered on a personal computer using MS Word. The test requires 11/2 hours to complete.

5. Schedule an interview with Mrs. Ehninger, Coordinator of the Program
