Distance Learning at LCCC is an exciting opportunity in higher education that uses technology so that students can complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Applied Science degree learning without the limitations of location or time of day.
- Distance Learning is specifically designed for the student who has work and/or family obligations and cannot come to a college campus for classes. However, the program is also open to college students who wish to supplement their current degree program or to eligible high school students wishing to start their college education.
- The only difference between distance learning courses and on-campus courses is the delivery method. The quality and content of distance learning courses are identical to the courses taught on campus in the classroom, and the courses transfer identically to the on-campus classes. Distance learning faculty teaching these courses are the same faculty who teach on campus and offer the same quality and direction as that provided in the classroom.
- Online classes take just as much time as regular classes. For a 3-credit class, you will need to schedule 9-12 hours a week per course. Since they do not meet in the same way as a traditional class, distance education classes require that distance learning students be self-motivated, independent learners and able to learn well from written material.
We hope that you will find a course or courses that meet your needs and that you will be satisfied with each of your experiences at Lehigh Carbon Community College. We wish you the best of luck with your educational endeavor, hope you will attend LCCC, and recommend us to your friends!
