Scholarships in the amount of $250.00 are currently available to eligible horticulture students, thanks to efforts by the LCCC horticulture club. Students in the club have generously set aside funds from fundraising activities to provide these scholarships. Applications can be obtained from the campus financial aid office.

Eligibility requirements for the horticulture scholarship are:

• student must have declared horticulture as their major

• student must be registered for 3 or more credits in the semester for which the scholarship is granted

• student must have completed a minimum of 12 credits in horticulture (HRT) (may include Plant Science – BIO 106) courses at LCCC

• student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all courses taken at LCCC

• student must submit an essay discussing their career objectives and how receiving the scholarship will benefit not only themselves in the short run, but the community in the long run. The essay must be given a title and must be at least one page in length, no longer than two pages, and double spaced with one inch margins.
