Project FLAGSHIP is our newest scholarship opportunity. Students accepted into this
program will receive tuition and books for free toward their Special Education A.A.S.
degree.
We are accepting both full-time and part-time students.
Under this grant, a Scholarship and Service agreement must be signed, which states that upon
completing the degree, the student must maintain employment on a full-time or full-time
equivalent basis for a period of at least two years for every academic year of assistance under
the grant, providing service either in:
- Special education or related services to children with disabilities, or
- Early intervention services to infants or toddlers with disabilities.
Applying for financial aid is a requirement of the grant. Even if you don’t think you qualify, you
still must follow this process. Scholarship awards will be based upon the amount of financial
aid you receive. The fastest way to apply for financial aid is by going online to
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Please have all of your tax information ready, and identify LCCC’s school code on the
application: #006810. This process needs to be done immediately, since it can take a few
weeks. So that we are able to track your financial aid process, I need your social security #
and your birth date. (Please be assured your personal information is secure.)
So that the Teacher Education Department can properly coordinate your application to
the college with your application to the FLAGSHIP program (and make sure that your
LCCC application fee is paid for by the grant) ALL APPLICATION PAPERWORK MUST
BE DONE ON PAPER AND SUBMITTED TO THE TEACHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
FOR PROCESSING.
If you wish, you may download printable copies of the forms and then fill them out and
mail them to the Teacher Education Department.
Click here to go to the Project Flagship admissions
checklist,
where the forms are listed and may be downloaded.
If you prefer, we can mail you a Project FLAGSHIP application packet, which contains
all the necessary forms including the application to the college. If you would like the packet
mailed to you,
click here to send us email (be sure to include your
mailing address in the email) or contact Karen Bydlon by telephone at 610-799-1772.
Once the forms are complete, mail them to:
ATTN: Karen Bydlon
Teacher Education Department
Lehigh Carbon Community College
4525 Education Park Dr.
Schnecksville, Pa. 18078-9989
Once these steps have been taken, please contact Karen Bydlon to schedule an interview with
Teacher Education, either by
email (flagship@lccc.edu)
or phone (610) 799-1772. We prefer to
receive the forms back in advance of the interview, but if that’s not possible, you must bring the
forms along to the interview.
