  Are jobs available in the field of special education?

  Special Education has traditionally been one of the fastest growing areas of education. The demand for special education teachers and paraeducators continues to grow. Certified and qualified professionals are needed in all fifty states.


Q:

  Can I enroll in Project F.L.A.G.S.H.I.P. part-time?

A:

  You can enroll in just one or two courses if you prefer. Check LCCC’s Special Education, A.A.S. programs of study to find out which courses you will need and when they will be offered.


Q:

  Can I save money by enrolling in Project F.L.A.G.S.H.I.P.?

A:

  Absolutely! You may be eligible for 100% scholarship assistance.


Q:

  What kind of job can I expect with an A.A.S, in special education?

A:

  An A.A.S. in special education qualifies you to become a special education paraprofessional, working directly with children with exceptionalities, under the supervision of a special education teacher.


Q:

  How long will it take to finish my A.A.S. in special education at LCCC?

A:

  The A.A.S. in special education can be completed on a full time basis in two years, if you follow the courses in sequence. Going part time will take longer.


Q:

  Will I need a Bachelor’s degree for certain special education careers?

A:

  You will need a Bachelors to become a certified special education teacher.
